* ENGLISH: CD - PLUGGEDANSEN *
|
With repertoire from the “Hollantsche Schouburgh”
[Dutch Theatre] (Amsterdam, 1714-1718).
A “plug” was a countrykinkel, a lout or a rake.
Plug dances were simple dances, which everyone could participate in. This unlike the formal and dignified court dances, which had to be taught by a dancing master.
So they are fit for the Balfolk of our days.
